Hi All
Thanks in advance for your help.
I am a bit concerned after buying a Japenese White Pine from a gentleman who collects pines for garden trees.
I bought the tree home and took for granted that the tree was in good health due to the growth on top. So after hard pruning and a first shaping of the tree to address shape and reverse taper as all candles had been left to grow. The plan was to then let the tree develop
A couple of weeks later we had rain and the drainage wasn't the best. So I ended up removing all the soil due to the smell.and amount of dead roots.
I am a bit concerned I have now over stressed the tree.
Great thank you, thats a great help. I think I have applied too many. Principles all at once and not pine specific either.
The original was very top dominant and all candles had been left you to grow out so there was alot of swelling on top branches. I did take the multiple branches where swelli g hasn't started as well though.
