Hi all,
Complete beginner here. Went on a "yamadori" expedition and acquired what I think is a buddleja. Really excited about this. The owner wanted it gone from his yard but wasn't sure what it was, though through Google lens I was able to identify the species and he confirmed it flowered purple. Has anyone had any experience with this? It had some really gnarly thick roots which I've had to cut back heavily to get it to fit in a manageable pot. Have also pruned back more growth than i would have liked but even in its current state it was crazy heavy to move. Hoping it shows signs of life/growth before I prune back further but might need an electric saw for further work i think.
Any advice re how to approach this would be welcome!
