I've got a juniper from a nursery, they told me it's about 5 years old. It's got a nice and quirky curvature to it and thought it might be an interesting project to learn.
I want to start working it as a bonsai, still in training pot but want to clean it up a bit and wire it and wait for properly repot it at a better time.
What do you do for pruning? I understand you remove brown shots and branches that point downwards?
What do you do with branches like the ones on the images. Do you remove them altogether or just remove the brown part (and leave the green at the top)?
