Hi everyone my name is Davey T Harding, 49 from Newcastle Upon Tyne UK. I'm only into my second/third year and can honestly say that im addicted. During lockdown I decided to get serious about my new hobby and went from having one sad looking tree to a garden full. I've collected some nice yamadori scots pines and a conteneaster and a selection of other species. (surprisingly they are still alive haaha). Initial styling and development in progress. Even had a go at bit of penjing.

looks like your off to a great start. i love your Penjing you did it looks great. now all you need is a cascading tree up on top of that rock
That's how it starts and before u know it you will have trees everywhere hahaha.
I got a bit obsessed during lockdown too. Although your garden space looks a lot, a LOT, better than mine. Although, I rent. I did just buy a house, so next year, I'll be able to do whatever I want.

I found a garden centre in Durham that has great prices and a great selection of usable material. I could keep an eye out for u and maybe send you one?
I am in South Wales, just outside of Cardiff.
All the garden centre I have found so far are no good for bonsai. Chinese Elm and nothing specially that my lot.
There are no bonsai nurseries my way either. The closest is a 5 to 6 hour round trip.

Very nice there. I am trying to keep. To a few trees but it's getting harder lol.
